Andrew's Take

As I built CacheX, I wanted to create an app that would make it easy for people to discover the value of their belongings. With CacheX, users can simply take a photo of an item and receive an estimate of its worth based on market pricing from sold listings. I drew inspiration from my experience with Samson and Ajax Studio, where I saw the potential for technology to simplify complex tasks. CacheX is designed to be a free, intuitive app that helps people make informed decisions about their items, whether they're looking to sell, buy, or simply understand the value of what they own. By launching CacheX on iOS and Android, I hope to bring this capability to a wide range of users and make a positive impact on the way people interact with their belongings.

Introduction to CacheX

As someone who has accumulated a significant amount of possessions over the years, I have often found myself wondering what all my stuff is actually worth. From tools in the garage to sneakers in the closet, old electronics in a drawer, trading cards, cameras, and vinyl, it can be overwhelming to try to determine the value of each item. This is a common problem that many people face, and it can be time-consuming and tedious to try to price each item individually using existing pricing apps.

## The Problem with Current Solutions

Current pricing apps typically work one item at a time, which can be slow and laborious. This can lead to people giving up on trying to determine the value of their possessions, or resorting to guessing or using inaccurate pricing estimates. I wanted to create a solution that would make it easy and efficient for people to determine the value of their possessions, without having to spend hours researching and pricing each item individually.

## My Work on CacheX

I built CacheX, a free app that turns one photo of your stuff into a live resale portfolio. The app uses AI to identify every resaleable item in the photo, down to the make and model, and prices each one against real sold listings. This allows users to quickly and easily determine the value of their possessions, and track them as a portfolio. I designed CacheX to be user-friendly and efficient, with the goal of making it easy for people to discover the hidden value in their possessions.

## How CacheX Works

CacheX uses photo-based identification to recognize the items in the photo, and then uses market pricing from sold listings to determine the value of each item. The app tracks the entire portfolio, allowing users to see the total value of their possessions and monitor any changes in value over time. I focused on creating a simple and intuitive user experience, with the goal of making it easy for people to use CacheX to discover the value of their possessions.

## Benefits of CacheX

One of the key benefits of CacheX is that it saves users time and effort. Instead of having to research and price each item individually, users can simply take a photo of their possessions and let the app do the work. This makes it easy for people to determine the value of their possessions, and to make informed decisions about what to keep, sell, or donate. I believe that CacheX has the potential to be a valuable tool for anyone looking to manage their possessions and maximize their value.

## Launching CacheX

CacheX is currently "coming soon" and will be available on both iOS and Android. I am excited to launch the app and make it available to users, and I am confident that it will be a useful tool for anyone looking to determine the value of their possessions. With CacheX, users will be able to quickly and easily discover the hidden value in their possessions, and make informed decisions about how to manage their assets.

## Conclusion

In conclusion, CacheX is a free app that makes it easy for people to determine the value of their possessions. By using photo-based identification and market pricing from sold listings, CacheX provides a simple and efficient way for users to track the value of their possessions and make informed decisions about what to keep, sell, or donate. I am excited to launch CacheX and make it available to users, and I believe that it has the potential to be a valuable tool for anyone looking to manage their possessions and maximize their value.
